Independent Unit 9008 – International Arbitration and Foreign Investment Protection

The separate department provides legal services in the field of international law and represents the interests of the Czech Republic before international arbitration tribunals. The separate department handles disputes arising from investment promotion and protection agreements and cooperates with the Czech Republic's legal counsel selected on the basis of Act No. 134/2016 Coll. and internal regulations. A separate unit negotiates investment promotion and protection agreements, participates in the negotiation of investment promotion and protection agreements negotiated within the EU and participates in negotiations on international investment issues and disputes within international organisations. It ensures activities resulting for the Ministry from Act No. 104/2013 Coll.
