Meeting of representatives of the Czech Republic and Latvia to the topic of public finance management and control system
On 12 and 13 April 2022, a meeting took place between representatives of the Central Harmonization Unit of the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic and representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Latvia, the Treasury of the Republic of Latvia and the State Audit Office of the Republic of Latvia.
The purpose of these meetings was to collect good practice and discuss the pros and cons of the public finance management and control system in the Republic of Latvia. The main topics were the rules of internal audit, internal control system and financial controls, both at the level of central government and at the level of local self-government bodies.
The acquired knowledge will be used as inputs into the analysis of the Latvian system of financial management in public administration. This analysis will then be used in accordance with the objectives of the project „Strengthening Public Finance Management and Control“ as one of the bases in the preparation of the draft substantive intent of the Public Finance Management and Control Act.
