Marek Mora
Deputy Minister
Marek Mora has held the position of Deputy Minister of Finance of the Czech Republic since April 2023. Prior to this, he held prominent positions in both national and European institutions. From 2017 to 2023, he was a member of the Bank Board of the Czech National Bank, where he became Deputy Governor in December 2018. At the European level, he worked at the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union from 2010 to 2017, first as Director of the Cabinet of the Secretary-General and later as Director for Budget, Taxation and Regional Policy. He played a key role in the preparation and execution of the Czech Republic’s first presidency of the Council of the EU, serving as Deputy Minister for European Affairs. Before that, he briefly served as Deputy Minister of Education, Youth and Sports. From 2003 to 2006, he worked as an economist at the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission. Marek Mora holds a degree from the University of Economics in Prague and pursued postgraduate studies in economics in Saarbrücken, Hamburg and Leipzig.
